A few years back I was foolish enough to let my URL expire. It was victorcamara.com and a soap opera star from Venezuela that goes by the same name picked it up before I could renew. I wish I could say I was on a backpacking trip in Barcelona or diving with piranhas in the Amazon and that is why I didn’t renew, but the truth is I was just lazy. Therefore I purchased victormcamara.com (we also have the same middle name, go figure). I have had the new domain since 2007 and haven’t done much with it but that is about to change.

On Google, the telenovela star is in the first few position of search results. I am taking the challenge upon myself to be in the number one spot for my name on Google, after all, what I do IS online marketing, so it’s about time I applied some of my knowledge to my benefit.

I will keep you updated here as to how I start to move up in the search results, if I do at all. Currently I am in positions 7 and 9 on the organic search result listings. Hopefully that will start to change soon and I can start to move up! It will be difficult I think since the “star” that has stolen my name/URL has many photos and such on his site, plus he is semi-famous and I am only quasi-famous but I have some tricks up my sleeve. (Insert evil laugh here).

I have nothing against el Señor Victor Camara, soap opera star, (I used to watch his novela Topacio back in the 80’s) just a fun project and challenge for myself to see how fast I can make it to the top of the SERPs. See you on Google!
